Privacy Policy.
What we collect, why, and how to reach us about it.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Shanghai Carbonjour Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. ("Carbonjour", "we"), registered in Putuo District, Shanghai, China. For privacy questions, write to djh@carbonjour.com.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry details. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, organisation, role, email address, the subject you select and your message.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider may record standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and availability purposes.
- Language preference. If you switch between English and Chinese, your browser's local storage remembers that choice. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss offtake, co-development, investment or supply chain.
- To carry out due diligence and manage a potential or existing business relationship.
- To keep the website secure and to understand, in aggregate, whether its pages are being reached.
We rely on your consent when you submit the form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and operating the website securely.
4. Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers or third-party analytics. The only local storage we use is your language preference. Server logs, where kept, are used for security and deleted on a rolling basis.
5. Sharing
Form submissions are delivered through FormSubmit, a form-to-email service, which forwards the message to our inbox; FormSubmit's own privacy policy applies to that transmission. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the site or our email (for example, our hosting and email providers), under appropriate confidentiality terms, or where required by law or a competent authority.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside mainland China. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the transfer is lawful and that appropriate safeguards apply.
7. Retention
Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a longer period is required for a business relationship, a legal obligation or a dispute. Server logs are kept for up to 6 months.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, or to withdraw consent. Email djh@carbonjour.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send confidential documents through the contact form; we will arrange an NDA and a secure channel where needed.
10. Children
This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be indicated on this page.
